Tony Priddle

Most of my work is painting in oils, but I do some sculptural work in canvas and in paper. I also work in photography.

I enjoy responding to commissions on a site specific basis i.e. responding to the proposed location of the work, as well as the subject matter. Consequently the medium and structure employed is adapted to suit the challenge. It is probable that this approach results from my practice as an Architect.

My work has historically been inspired by traditional sources, such as nature, light and people. However it is increasingly becoming centred on spiritual issues and my current hope is better to understand and express “The Resurrection”, which seems to be a fundamental, but little understood, component of Christianity.
